SUPPORT QUARIAN RIGHTS by ProgressiveSoul SUPPORT QUARIAN RIGHTS by ProgressiveSoul
Because no one (except for the renegades among us) likes to see those helpless, isolated space nomads being pushed around. Originally came from a t-shirt idea but I decided to make a button stamp of it for no real reason. Maybe I should make that t-shirt, come to think of it...I don't know.

Tali, Kal'Reegar, the Qwib Qwib and the rest of the Quarians are the property and brainchildren of Edmonton's BioWare, developers of Mass Effect.

Uses :iconzilla774:'s stamp template.

YES! The genophage must be stopped! Dammit, Mordin, get up off your ass and think of something!

I was also thinking of making another stamp saying "Geth are People Too". Although hardcore fans of the first game and Legion-bashers may not think that way...but hey, it's opinionated propaganda. It's a given. :P

haha, nice idea. You oughta make a "SAVE RACHNI" stamp to boot, we never really see much of those little buggers.
P.S. "Legion-Bashers?", I dismiss that claim...

I spared the Queen on Noveria, dammit, I expect a hero's welcome! :P

You see, I would as well. Legion defines badass. Except there seems to be equally as many foes as fans for just about every ME2 crewmember (except for maybe Jacob...sorry, all twelve of you Jacob fans out there...enjoying your "prize"? ;) ). For example, I wasn't surprised to hear that many people detest Tali (my favorite squadmember), but she kind of does it to herself in ME1 with all of her quasi-teenage characterization.

In my experience on the internet and with video game/nerd culture, I've learned that just about anyone can find anything annoying. Yes, even with the badass-ness that is Legion, sadly.

When Mass Effect 3 comes along I'm going to try my hardest to take back their homeworld peacefully. If that means I have to put a bullet in Admiral Xen's head* then so be it. I see both sides as victims and enslaving or wiping out one side won't make it right in any sense.

Also, Kal'Reegar for admiral... it needs to happen.

*I don't trust anyone with control of the entire Geth Collective, that's way too much firepower in the hands of a single species.

Ah, Xen...don't even get me started. In a universe chock full of corrput politicians and leaders, Xen just may be the epitome of corruption, one who's willing to utilize militancy as her own form of twisted revenge on the universe. The fact she's willing to use the same methods used to exile the Quarians in the first place shows a very impulsive downside to the psychologies of a people living in disrepair...while some choose to negotiate peacefully and democratically, others choose militant and violent means, which ends up leaving a sour taste in everyone's mouth. I'm interested to see where this subplot leads in ME3.

Combine that with Gerrel's near suicidal wardrive and the fact that Raan lacks a backbone... the quarians really need to to vet their admirals better.

When your only reasonable admiral is also a bit of a pompous jackass you know you have some issues.

Lia is awesome (not to mention as innocent as Tali is) although I don't understand why you don't give her credits to buy a ship yourself. I mean, you paid to get Kenn off of Omega (if you were Paragon enough for it, that is), why couldn't you pay for Lia's ship? Shepard, please.

--On another note, yeah, I'd totally wear this as a shirt. I have entirely too much sympathy for a fictional race of polygons, but damn.

See? Even renegades have a soft spot for the under-appreciated quarians! It just goes to show how well-written they are. I recently started an ME1 playthrough (haven't played the game since '07) and recently rediscovered just how long and in-depth the conversation with Tali is about the quarians and their creation of the geth. It's those little things, regardless of true necessity in the plot, that make this series and its characters that much more believable. Tali is the only video game character whose situation I've truly empathized with, and that's saying a lot.

The actual t-shirt idea is coming along fairly well at this point, it's all an issue of how it'll look "in person" instead of on a simple image. With the ease of t-shirt making sites on the Internet these days, this silly idea just may become a reality...as soon as I get the cash to do so, I guess. :P

Seriously. Freaking Veetor, shit...I just wanted to hug the poor bastard. As for empathizing with Tali, same here. Just, wow. Yeah. IMO they did a lot of the characterizations well but the quarians were just amazing.

Don't even get me started on the "Ascension" novel and how the quarians are treated in there.

Gah, there are so many ways you could take the shirt design. Either way, it'd be awful difficult for it not to end up epic.

Ah, the Council. Don't even get me started. Corruption thrives within their ranks, and their inability to support the Quarians in the aftermath of the Geth rebellion (as well as the permanent removal of the Quarian ambassador) only demonstrates the breadth of their hypocrisy.

One of these days, they'll understand. Until then, there's nothing left to do but...:shakefist:

(On a serious note: I absolutely LOVE the history and mythology of Mass Effect. It's even more amazing when it's analyzed and broken down over and over again. Damn you, ME series, for turning me into more of a nerd than I already was!)

I'm entirely convinced that something must be in the water in Edmonton...first the hilarious wordplay of SCTV and now the equally hilarious wordplay of BioWare. I almost busted a lung after that bit of dialogue came up. Gotta love the humor of the ME series.

True story: the Qwib Qwib (or is it Quib Quib?) is actually a reference to an obscure character in science fiction, the Beserker, created by Fred Saberhagen (and no, I'm not talking about the Gears of War characters or the awesome song from Clerks).

If not for this very informative forum post, I would still think it was simply a funny sounding word: [link]

(Off topic, but am I the only one that thinks Harbinger's spiel about "assuming control" is a reference to Rush's song "2112"?)
